MPI testing at low temperatures
We are happy to share this customer feedback about our magnetic particle products. In this case it is about PFINDER 251 (a black magnetic particle suspension) and PFINDER 280 (a white contrast paint).
Sitting on a pipeline in the snow with temperature being -11°F (equal -24°C), the pipe was warmer on the sleeve:
“I was probably outside the temperature range, but I proved it up prior to inspection. I inspected (2) repairs on an 80‘ sleeve with PFINDER 251 and 280 at -11°F. The pipe was warm. The contrast paint and particles both worked well.“
Good to know and of special importance for NDT service providers in these (chilly) days.
That’s “THINKING AHEAD SINCE 1884.”
