Penetrating Testing
in the PFINDER NDT Technical Centre:
A semi-automatic testing line is available for penetration testing with dye penetrants or fluorescent penetrants. This includes the following stations:
- Test bench with suction removal system for spray applications
- Dipping bath for the penetrant
- Rinse step 1: dipping or spray washing according to choice
- Emulsifying: use as an dipping bath,
- Rinse step 2: dipping or spray washing according to choice
- Dipping bath for wet developer
- Drying oven
- Dust cloud chamber for dry developer
- Developer station with suction removal system for e-static application of dry developers
All of the parameters can be freely selected and entered via a touch screen, e.g.
- Oscillation in all dipping baths (number and speed of the strokes)
- Spraying times and pressure during intermediate cleaning
- Water pressure
- Temperature and circulating volume of the wet developer
- Temperature of the dry oven
- Swirling duration of the dry developer
Practical Simulation
The technically highly flexible solution enables all of the typical testing sequences to be practically simulated. This method enables the testing sequence which is optimal for the expected parts to be defined in advance, no matter whether this is
- application of the test medium by dipping, spraying, etc.
- dip washing, spray washing
- one or more rinse stages
- wet developer or dry developer
It is possible to reproduce the sequences of possible serial processing which takes place at a later date, thereby enabling reliable estimations to be made in advance with regard to
- test material consumption
- water consumption
- resulting waste water quantities
- ideal processing methods
Additional equipment in the NDT technical centre:
- all standard forms of UV lamps (deuterium, mercury vapour and LED lamps) in addition to blue light lamps/filters
- diverse calibration/reference bodies and measuring instruments
An evaluation cabin with camera systems for the documentation of fluorescent displays or dye penetrants is also available.
